In 2012, a Lego Man went where no Lego Man has gone before...SPACE!
Today we read the true story of this amazing feat and continued working on the Questioning. The Master Learners of 2B had so many questions before, during and after reading, that we are going to have to go to an outside source to find the answers. We then watched the short video - embedded below. We will be reading an article tomorrow looking for the answers for our questions, as well as comparing important information on this important event from two different sources.

April 2015

Dear Parents,
For the remainder of the school year, we will be approaching vocabulary in a new way.
What to Look For:
  • A word list with student illustrations and definitions will come home when we have accumulated a list of 8 words from class read alouds.
  • A due date will be written on the top of the word list.
  • Vocabulary sentences will not always be assigned on Tuesday and due on Friday.
  • Vocabulary sentences will be written on a provided lined sheet of paper, OR
  • Students may type their Vocabulary sentences on a google doc and share it with me.

Sincerely,
The Second Grade Team
Mrs. Buti, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. VanRavenswaay

The sentences for the vocab below are due on Wednesday, 4/15/15.

"How was your day?" Alternatives

4/8/2015

Some days my son has the special treat of being picked up by Grandma. He loves this even though he knows Grandma is going to push the boundaries of asking him about his day. You see, my mom isn't content with the routine, "How was your day?" "Good." "What did you do?" "Nothing." responses. She asks hims questions that make him think a little harder about his day. So, I wanted to share a list of "How Was Your Day?" Alternative questions that she shared with me.
