Book Orders will be due THIS FRIDAY, 11/21/14. The class voted for this date because there is no school next week and they didn't want to wait until after Thanksgiving break. Thanks in advance for your orders.

This week we have been practicing researching to write informational texts. In order to practice staying on topic, we had fun writing OFF-TOPIC sentences. Each group researched and wrote a paragraph with an opening sentence, 3-4 details, and a closing sentence. ONE of the sentences had to be off topic, and today we shared paragraphs with other groups to find the off-topic sentence. They wanted to share these with you:
There will be no Vocabulary Sentences for homework this week.
Now that we have our take home reading program up and running I am looking for daily volunteers! What you will do as a volunteer? -There is a Camp Read-a-Lot bin in the classroom. This is where children who are checking out new Camp Read-a-Lot books put their folders. -You will record the date and the book the child is checking out on their page in the Camp Read-a-Lot binder. -When all books have been recorded they go into the children's mailboxes. -If you have more time, you are welcome to have the children who are checking out a book read their new book aloud to you. **There is also a Parent Helper bin located next to the Camp Read-a-Lot bin, if you would like to continue to donate time to our classroom you will find additional jobs that you can help with there!** If you would like to help for Camp Read-a-Lot please check the calendar on our volunteer page for days that we still need help! You are free to come in anytime that works for you. However, we are certain to be in the room 8:50-11:45, and most days 1:45-3:15. If you are interested, please email me at [email protected] I will confirm your day by adding you to the calendar! |
