We have earned our first party in 2B! The class voted on a pajama/movie party. A few details:
  • The party will be on THURSDAY, 10/15/15.
  • Students may wear pajamas all day!
  • They may bring ONE stuffed animal -must fit in backpack, where it will stay until party time.
  • If you would like to nominate/recommend any G-rated short films (around 30-45 min- that's the tricky part), please email me!

Totally Rad Llama

One of our FAVORITE brain breaks is the Llama Song on GoNoodle. I was at a pumpkin farm this weekend and saw these llamas that wanted to say hi to their friends in 2B!

New Homework, Lots of Learning

I want to apologize for not posting on the blog more frequently. I am having computer issues and for some reason cannot access weebly from my work computer. This will be a big post because I have a lot to update!

Homework Details

We start Homework this week: Poetry & Word Work!
  • Check for a poetry packet in the Home Folder. Directions are on the first page.
  • Look for Word Work homework on Wednesday. I've created a menu of choices that should be fun for the kids to practice their words.
  • As always, your child can be practicing their math skills on Dreambox and Xtramath. Both can be accessed from the "Math Links" on my blog (the kids know how to get there) If you'd like to access Dreambox on the ipad, you will need this code: 7wbk/indiant

Writer's Workshop

We are building partnerships as writers during Writer's Workshop. We are learning how to plan our writing by talking to our partner and how to write a "Small Moment" narrative.

Literacy & Word Work

During Daily 5, we have learned 3 Daily choices: Read to Self, Read to Someone and Word Work. We learned many fun ways to practice our spelling words. Some of the favorites were "Magical Words" And "Spelling Code." Ask your child about their favorite Word Work choice.

Saying Goodbye To a Classmate

Last week we had a special celebration to say goodbye to our friend who was moving. We will miss her dearly!
