Today your child is bringing home a purple vocabulary notebook and a list of words/definitions. This marks the beginning of our weekly vocabulary homework.Vocabulary Homework is sent home on Tuesdays and is due every Friday (unless otherwise noted). The following expectations are printed on the inside cover as well as here on the Vocabulary Weekly Resource page on the blog.
Vocabulary Homework is due
EVERY FRIDAY
*I used each vocab word in a sentence with details.
*I took my time and wrote neatly.
*I underlined the vocab word.
*I remembered CAPITAL LETTERS and punctuation.
Remember: You are writing sentences, NOT definitions! Your sentences should sound like you are using the word in a story or conversation.
On Friday your child should bring his/her vocabulary notebook back to school with all sentences complete for the week's words and a signature. This signature should be given only after your student has completed the tasks above.
Vocab notebooks cannot be turned in early, it is my expectation that students will practice and use these words daily throughout the week. Therefore, I will check books only on Friday.
*If your child forgets or loses their list of words, they can be found under the "Weekly Resources" tab at the top of the blog.
*Please establish good homework habits right from the start.
